Organized Card Giver Post #2: Prepare to Succeed!

Hey everyone,

If you’re reading this post, it means you’re somewhat serious about the New Year’s resolution to send cards to people you care about. Do me a favor and give yourself a quick pat on the back from me. Starting is half the battle.  Actually, it’s more important to start, than to succeed. People that start something are usually the ones that end up finishing strong. I tend to procrastinate, just like everyone else. But, just like with anything, if I tell myself, just start….just run for 5 mins, just workout for 5 mins, just clean for a minute, I build momentum to keep going forward. Then when the time is up, its not so bad. You can keep going more…

That’s exactly what we’re going to do this week. We’re going to start strong. That’s all you need to do for this week.

I know the New Year’s doesn’t start until a month from now, but we want to actually hit the ground running as soon as the new year hits. So, preparation is the key here.

For this week#1, and #2, get the addresses and birthdays of friends and family. I suggest using Google Documents. They let you share information between different people as a live document that people can edit. You can also use it from your phone, computer, etc.
It doesn’t matter what you use. Use a system that works for you. Make sure to have this information in a spreadsheet:

Name:
Birthday:
Anniversary:
Address:

If you have Facebook, under Home Page-> Events-> Birthdays, you can actually find out people’s birthdays and export it to Excel or jot down the birthdays. *This only works if the person has a facebook account and has updated their birthdays*

So, get started…I actually ended up sending out a few birthday cards already when I realized, I had the address and all I had to do was mail the card!

Bugs and Kisses Birthday Party theme!

Today, I went to a fun birthday party of a 7 year old boy who loves bugs. He's a very sweet kid and I wanted to help make his birthday special. So, I made him bug themed party decor.  I made little favor bags using the Bag punch board filled them with plastic bugs ( yes, I'm not even coming close to touching a real one. I had my husband make sure there weren't even fake lizards in there). I also added hershey kisses in the bag mixed in. I made him a bug themed birthday banner and  a cake topper as well. This,by the way, is my favorite pic I've ever taken using my phone. I just love the blue of the door popping out.  Once the bag was punched out using bag punch, I used the Bugs and Beetles retired stampset, which I borrowed from my sweet upline, Holly Stene. (Holly, thanks a lot for letting me borrow this stampset). Then I used the different color combos to make the bugs pop right out of the bag.  There were some fun gummy worms an...
